Dear Dotone;
I'm looking to buy a used MBP, your specs are ok but the price is not. 1 week use or more, the fact is IT IS USED LAPTOP, With that price you are mentioning I would rather go to Apple/Jumbo and buy NEW.

Can you revice ur price?

Not being rude kokome, proceed to Jumbo instead, this machine was used only for 3 presentations until I had my MacBook back from service. How much of the price would you reduce if you used a laptop for 3 presentations? It wasn't meant to be sold, but It just did not suit me, if I'm about to lose more than that I'll wrap it and give it away as a gift instead.

He has a point though. It's not the matter of the number of presentations. Take the example of a car. As soon as it is sold new from dealer it looses a lot of value, unless it is something really extraordinary. It doesn't matter much if it rolls 100m, 1km or 10km. You're saying the price has gone down 2.3% if I calculate right. It's your right to set the price for sure, but it's also the right of potential buyers to argue that the price may be too high.

Update, the MBP is sold now.

Sure Magnus, a buyer has all the rights to argue. My side of story is a little bit different though. Take this example. When you want to sell a Tuned/Modified Car would you go to the second hand market to sell to one of the showrooms? Or classify it and list it and wait for a Car enthusiast like yourself to buy it from you and evaluate it right?

So I posted it here, as it's Macs enthusiast central right? That's why my expectation was higher. I know that the second hand market would buy it from me for max 8,100 cuz they'd resell it for 8,500, ye know..

Well, you could view that another way too, if this place has more Apple/Mac enthusiasts than many other sites, then people here know their stuff, which probably also means they wouldn't accept your original price. And this is a second hand market as well. Anywhere you sell the Mac after you walk out of the store with it is second hand market, I would think. I'm not sure I understand your example, "would you go to the second hand market to sell to one of the showrooms"...

Dear Dotone;
You have all the right to protect ur investment and try to get the max out of your initial payment, but that is the fact where if a user is going to buy a laptop already used it is deemed used regardless of how many presentations, emails ,..... used for. it is still used. as I said before that price is not sexy enough for me al least to go for your option while I can go and buy the same from istyle and use my HSBC card and pay 0% intrest over a year.

By the way you are offering it as Magnus mentioned in a second hard market ......

You've got a point I know you're totally right, just giving up a new machine that easy can be tough sometimes specially if you value it first and buy it then just think it is undervalued, but you're totally right.
