Altec Lansing BackBeat 903 (Stereo Bluetooth headset for iPhone)

Hi guys.

I need your help to show me where to buy the Altec Lansing BackBeat 903 which is a Stereo Bluetooth headset that is compatible with all iPhones running OS 3.0 except iPhone 2G. I have the iPhone 3GS 32 Gb from the UK and I must say that I became very dissapointed from the weak digital accessories Market in UAE specially when it comes to things related with wireless Bluetooth communication devices. I have toured almost the cool electronic digital shops and places in Abu Dhabi including Marina & Abu Dhabi Mall, Al-Difaa Street, Jambo, eMax, even the official Altec Lansing agent in Abu Dhabi which is Graphic International center and all of them don't have this product. In fact that most of them (except Graphic of course) never heard about Altec Lansing which is a very big company in the UK and they are popular with producing high quality electronic devices. Here in UAE I became sick of the blind support to Nokia & Sony stuff, ignoring all other big brands!

The only sight of hope appeared at Carrefour in Marina's Mall when I managed to find at least one alternative which is Motorola S9 Stereo Bluetooth headset, but unfortunately this is exactly the device that I own at the moment and I don't need another one of it. In fact I am not happy with it either, because (despite the fact it produces very nice music sound quality) the call sound quality is rubbish, no noise cancellation & most of the times the other person can barely hear my voice, also the call sound is mono, not stereo, works on one side only. Also the device is not comfy and the bridge really hurts your neck's back besides you can't use it is situations like sleeping in bed for example.

While on the other hand, Altec's Backbeat 903 (and 906 as well) are the most advanced Bluetooth headsets in the world. They come with crystal clear HD Stereo sound support, long battery life, very comfortable (the two sides are joined by a wire), in-ear earphones, noise cancellation on phone calls and you can hear and male phone calls using both left and right speakers. And last but not least you will have the ability to open the mic while listenning to music to hear your surrounding and communicate with people without taking off the device. Cool!

Can anybody help me to go to somewhere that I can certainly find this product? Hopefully in Abu Dhabi. I should say that I have not tried looking inside Dubai yet, but even if I should try Dubai, I don't know where to go, and if I should go then I must find it, not just to try my luck, I want a certain information that it exists specifically somewhere there as I am resident in Abu Dhabi and if I will go to Dubai then I will go just to get it, at least within the next two weeks.

Call Graphic International and ask where it is available in AUH (they distribute Altec Lansing). Look out for a review of the 906 in next issue of Shufflegazine.

Dear Admin,

As I have said, I went to Graphic International center office in Abu Dhabi and they told me the item is not available. But what I've forgot to say that they are going to call me on Monday (tomorrow) to inform me if they are able to get one for me as they have to check with the supplier first and see if there is anything there in stock.

Do you mean that I should try calling Graphic's office in Dubai instead? They have also other offices in Al Sharjah and Al Ain. But, I thought that all offices are centeralized if you know what I mean (having the same stock from the only Altec Lansings supplier).

Have you tried it? The BackBeat 903 or 906? I just read the reviews but I love to hear your personal opinion regarding it.

Hi You can buy this at Virgin Megastore Abu Dhabi or Dubai. If you can get it, Admin: send pm & I shall organise this for you..
