OK, it works well with another account. Puzzling.
But what does it mean, why it does not work with my original account? And also, how can it be fixed? Is there somebody here in Dubai who are specialized and can take a look at it?

This means it is a software issue associated with your account.
Most likely, something you installed did this.

Can you go to Console and tell us what it says when you do take a capture?
    Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.

If you can find the file com.apple.screencapture.plist, in (Usename)/Library/Preferences, try and delete this. This pref file is only used in OS 10.4. I'm not sure where the prefs for the screenshot utility are in 10.5.

Leave that file alone - it is the preferences file for your screensaver.

The problem is almost certainly a corrupt file in your (username)/library folder, and probable a corrupt preferences file in Username/Library/Preferences.

Your options are really to find the offending file, or to move all your data across to a new user account.

In the meantime, please will you open Grab, and try make a screenshot using it, and let me know. If you can't find it try spotlight search for it.

Found it. On Leopard the preferences file for screen capture is called

    com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist

If you locate this file in (Username)/Library/Preferences and drag it to the trash and then restart your computer and try take a screenshot again that might fix it.

    Try delete
    com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist

Good chance this will fix it.
