Internet through bluetooth phone !

has anyone tried it ?
to get the GPRS internet connection with a bluetooth connected mobile phone while ur on the move with ur mac ?

whn I choose setup a bloototh device, then i select my phone, and choose :

Access the internet with your phone data connection .
Use a direct , Higher speed connection to reach your internet service provider (GPRS, 1xRTT)

i click on continue, and it asks me for a username, a password and a GPRS CID string...

when i choose to connect over that connection... it atcually dial the ISP (4004444) as a data call with a 9.6k link speed only ... is it that what mac calls connection GPRS ???

any clues ?

Update - it worked

well, it didnt really take me long time after this post to figure it out

am posting this message while connected through my mobile GPRS connection

you will have to actually download this file Nokia GPRS Scripts extract it with stuffit, and copy the script files to "/Library/Modem Scripts"

Setting for the Nokia 9500 (thats the one i got)
in the system preferences, Network pane, choose the bluetooth connection, click on the bluetooth modem button, from the modem list select the Nokia GPRS CID1 and click on apply.

now in the internet connect.app in the Application Folder, Choose the Bluetooth connection, provide the Telephone number as "mnet" (without the ") username mnet and password mnet !
click on connect and ur online :-)

I hope it would be useful for some of you !

for other mobile models, please check this website
