canon hv30 can't connect to imovie

hey guys

i am having problems connecting my canon hv30 to my imac.

i managed to connect it once but since it will not recognize the camera.

i tried on my macbook and that works fine!!!!

any idea why i won't work on the imac?

please help as i am going crazy

Do you keep it connected to the power adapter?

i have tried both (connected and not connected)

it is crazy because it works fine on the macbook but it does not recognize the camera on imac?????

Have you tried on a third Mac to rule out the iMac having problems? Or do other FireWire devices work on the iMac?
