are you using any proxy servers in your connection settings ?

do you have the same problem when downloading from ftp servers ???

No proxy and same problem from ftp . Have tried everything possible - to sum up problem - any big file above 2mb whenever i try donloading message comes - source cannot be read - this happens after sometime. For automatic update of software it shows 2 updates available - itunes and intel 2008-05 but download aborts after sometime - have downloaded the update in a pc and tried installing but message comes cannot mount . i am on apple 10.4.11 inter core duo and have a partition disk with parallels desktopp with vista installed
