| It says in the thread on Apple.com that I linked to what files he removed. From what I can gather, if you have the same problem as him, you may have to try removing other files: Quote:

| try starting the console.app "/Applications/Utilities/Console.app" make sure you are viewing "All messages" in console, start copying the file that you know it will fail at the end. and report any errors you will see appearing in the console. there should be something useful in diagnosing the problem. |

| If you Google "POSIX error: Connection reset by peer" from your log you'll find it's quite common, but there doesn't seem to be a widely recognized fix. Could you tell us, please: 1) Are you running latest Mac OS X (with latest update)? If not, download the combo update on your PC and run it on the Mac. 2) Have you tried in a new/untouched account? Does the same thing happen? 3) If you can, what if you boot from a Mac OS X on an external drive, does it do the same then? 4) Are you connecting via Wi-Fi? If so, have you tried connecting via cable? Does it make a difference? 5) Try setting DNS servers to the ones at OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet. Does it make a difference? |
