macbook not starting

hii

guy i have a problem i was using my macbook and after i finsihed my work i close it then i wanted to reopen it again but when i click the start button it comes the light gray screen without the apple logo on it it must be the apple logo then its starts up but the mac stucks on the light gray window doesnt start i tried to close it and reopen but same its stuck again when the gray window comes ???

please help me ASAP

try to boot from the Installation disc, and fix the permissions.

guy how can i fix the permissions ?? I inserted the cd then disc ulity then i dont know wthat to do they are 3 things??

please i need ur help ASAP!!

put in the DVD and restart/turn on the computer while pushing C
This will take you to the installation utility.
In the top menu select Disk Utilities
look for your hard disk and click on "Fix Permissions"

i took my macbook to the apple store they told me that i need to change my hard drive

i dont know why the hard drive damged in a short time!!!
