Access Privileges to Music Folder Hi all, After reading the article "How to Switch to a Mac and Enjoy Doing It" in May 2009 issue # 19 of Shuffle, particularly page 18 first column under "What not to do"; I setup a new standard account, I needed administrator's permission to do routine actions, such as copy, paste, or move commands; so, I went to Accounts Preferences, and I gave permission to that standard account to be able to administer this computer. so these issues were resolved. But unfortunately I am facing a couple of problems, I will address the major one in here, it is as follow: When I tried to import a CD via iTunes, I got the error message attached. Also, when using Jax to convert videos for ipod, I get an error message, also attached. Kindly note that when trying to perform the above actions from the original Administrator Account, they are executed normally. I tried to resolve the issue by changing the "Sharing and Permission" option on Macintosh HD, all Music folders and subfolders to "Read and Write" for everyone, admin, and system by clicking on the "Get info" option on the "right-click" menu; and the above error messages continued to show up. I would like to be able to use the newly created account to import CDs and convert videos via Jax. Could you please advise what I need to do? Thanks a lot for reading and hope to hear from you soon

What do the permissions for the Music folder in the new user's home folder look like. The permissions on my MacBook Pro look like the attached pic. Have you tried repairing permissions with Disk Utility?

Root problem Drastic changes happened I changed Permissions for the whole Mac HD and the problem was fixed, and iTunes imported the CD. After that, I connected my iPod Touch to synchronize it, and I receive an unexpected box saying "Can not connect to iPhone --- error ----" So I decided to reboot and once I did, the login screen never showed up, and it was only the welcome screen with the apple in the middle, every 2 minutes, it automatically reboots, as if it was a loop or something. I read the Everything Mac booklet, I tried rebooting while pressing the Option key, did not work! So I reinstalled the system, using the disks that came with the laptop (disc 1 and disc 2) Currently, I am updating the software... and did not try to import a CD yet... fingers crossed
