HI S2k, sorry I hadn't logged onto the site in a few days. I see the cpu panic in the log you have submitted. If there is no panic.log in the /library/log then there isn't one. Alternatively you can search using the search utility for it.

Is the log that you posted the entire log ? As I can see the kernel panic in the header, but don't see the error. Can you post the full error log?

Dan

I Googled the panic message (assume you did as well) and found this which has the following suggestions:
Quote:
You should try the standard troubleshooting suggestions:
Apple - Support - Mac 101 (see the "My Mac needs help" section)
macosxhints.com - Twenty steps to help diagnose and fix system issues
OSXFAQ :: View topic - General Steps in OS X Troubleshooting
The X Lab: The X-FAQs

In particular, be sure to do "Repair Disk" (different from "Repair Disk Permissions"!) in Disk Utility when booted from the Install CD/DVD. I.e. you restart from the Install CD/DVD, then run the version of Disk Utility that is available from one of the menus there.
See this Apple doc:
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

Be sure to disconnect all non-Apple peripherals.

And check the RAM with 'memtest':
Memtest OS X - Home
Some of it we've suggested, but not all of it. Tell us what you have tried so we know better what to suggest.

Not sure whether you tried this or not, does it panic when running in a new/blank user account?

Hey Magnus,

Some nice work there mate. Some excellent googling.

Right S2000 Kernel Panics are almost always about hardware. Either a bad driver or bad hardware is usually the main culprit. So do not worry about software or something that some one else has installed. Chances are a re-installation will not resolve your kernel panic.

How is your ram ? Is it all purchased from Apple ? or did you buy it from a third party vendor. Please follow Magnus's macosxmemtest link, download and install the app and check your ram regardless of whether it was purchased from Apple or not.

Could you also go ahead and do a software update and see if there is an update for the Mac airport driver. If so please install.

Dan

Right S2000 Kernel Panics are almost always about hardware. Either a bad driver or bad hardware is usually the main culprit. So do not worry about software or something that some one else has installed. Chances are a re-installation will not resolve your kernel panic.

How is your ram ? Is it all purchased from Apple ? or did you buy it from a third party vendor. Please follow Magnus's macosxmemtest link, download and install the app and check your ram regardless of whether it was purchased from Apple or not.

Could you also go ahead and do a software update and see if there is an update for the Mac airport driver. If so please install.

Dan

See post #24.

Have you tried with one or two RAM sticks taken out or replaced with other ones?

You still haven't told us exactly what you've tried or not from all things we've suggested.
