I did face a major problem with my New MBP 15", which is unexpected from Apple!

It got solved/repaired by Mac store (IbnBatuta) but after 3 weeks. and several phone calls.

I'm happy now!

Good Luck!

Angry Back Again....

OK...as i mentioned earlier I have been having allot of problems with service in the U.A.E. , One main reason ( Why I think they are reluctant to help me out ) is that i buy my computers from the U.S. as it is cheaper than the prices found here ( shipping included), not on all the products but some like Lappies, imacs & displays, one recent purchase was a BlackBook (MB) for my bro. it kept shutting down every now & then , now i was under the impression that i don't need to present a receipt to fix a problem while the computer is still under warranty ( it is my understanding that the serials # are checked against apple's database to Identify if this computer is within its warranty) and then fixed accordingly.

here they ask for the receipt ( which is lost in translation ) but in Germany ( never asked me for my lappy) & now my bro. ( who is in Canada ) says that they will fix it & never asked him to produce a receipt!!!

Why then do they introduce products to the market that they are not willing to fully support?
( In any case after sales service in the U.A.E. is very bad anyway, but i believe apple should be alerted to the short falls of the people that represent them here. not to blame but to encourage better levels of service as more macs are being soled hundreds of thousands of ipods.....flying of the shelf....)

Thank you for providing me a platform to vent my frustration......( BTW this was only the tip of the iceberg)

I understand your frustration as well, MoeXS. We've heard many similar things from other users. One of the reasons why this site was started in the first place was to increase the awareness of these issues and to bring users together to discuss their experience and what we can do.

I think the best way we can try to improve anything is to become as big a community as we can (both site and User Group). Get more people to sign up for the site and the User Group and together we'll have a powerful voice. We can make a difference and in some limited ways we already are.

I can tell you from personal experience, it doesn't do much good to contact Apple US or Apple Europe directly. All that happens is they pass it on to the local contact (IMC).

MoeXS < Thanks for sharing your experience with us. It will really help us (Buyers) and them (Sellers) to understand our market, which is becoming bigger everyday. You are right, We should not show our receipt. They should check by serials #

Aaahh! we will hear more stories, as they switch to Intel Macs. This is the start guys, I am really happy to see people as MoeXS, serious about Mac's lifestyle.

Welcome on board.
