    Mac Home Networking Specialist wanted

    Hi,

I am having trouble setting up my home network properly and am looking for a freelance techie to come over and give me a hand.

The issue I am having is this:

I live in an apartment in JLT and I have two active internet wall sockets, one in the living room and one in my bedroom.

In the bedroom I have my iMac and in the living room my Time Capsule and Apple TV. I am trying to get the iMac, Time Capsule and Apple TV to communicate with each other on the same network but am having issues doing so. I would set up a simple wifi network but the wall between my bedroom and living room blocks the wifi signal.

I have been trying to connect them all over ethernet but that's also not working. Does anyone know of a company or person that set up everything correctly for me?

    Thanks..
    Edmond

The only way to connect iMac, Time Capsule and Apple TV is by a router only. If du is your internet provider, it will be hard to use a router for internet sharing, if Etisalat is your provider, it will be easy.

By the way Time Capsule is a router.

I have a suggestion for you, you can buy Apple Express and a network cable, and then make a network by placing Apple Express in your bedroom and Time Capsule in the living room and then connecting both of them by the network cable.Your iMac, Time Capsule and Apple TV will communicate together after that. The configuration for both Apple Express and the Time Capsule can be made in istyle or from where you will buy the Apple Express.

Please note that the network is without internet, your iMac and Apple TV need to be connected directly to the internet.

I hope my solution will work for you.
