Hi, I do not think that an Apple Store employee will assist you in installing non-apple sourced hardware into your Mac. You will probably be able to get an iStyle employee to help you for a few Dhs, but this will be at your own risk.
I want to buy a MBP in America and upgrade it myself, but after reading that you can make the warranty invalid if you do something wrong. Would it be possible to buy the upgrades (not from Apple) then have an apple technician at the Apple store upgrade it?
Thanks.

I have done those upgrades like a bajillion times. Both will take about 15 min. Let me know if you need help. Yeah, HD and RAM you are allowed to do yourself.
The RAM upgrade looks easy, its the HD upgrade that looks a little tricky..
what is the type of RAM used by apple? is it a same RAM the used in pc's?
Yes - Apple uses the same RAM as do PC's. You do not necessarily have to buy the expensive Apple RAMs. I would recommend that you go to crucial.com and download the RAM recommender tool. Run it and it will tell you which is the best RAM for your mac. For eg: The RAM for MacBook Pro can also be used for your iMac Aluminium one. But these are things that Crucial would tell you and you can use it to upgrade the RAM to its maximum, some macs support a total of 2 GB, some a total of 4 and some a total of 8 GB RAM.
tnx venky83....but i if i replace it my self...it will void the warranty?
good..tnx again for the help venky
