Cool Good sites to buy macs online?

Thanks to a recent thread I started wondering what were the best US sites to buy macs and mac equipment online?

I recently bought a few bits an pieces for my mac along with a lens from B&H website. They are the biggest photography shop in New York, and their service was excellent. 3-5 days UPS delivery. UPS called me when the shipment arrived and told me how much the import duty was, so I had the cash ready when they arrived at my door the next day.

I know some EMUG members have experience buying macs and related kit online, and I wondered what sites you've used, and what your experiences with them have been, how long did it take to receive the shipment, how was the customer service, and how much did you save?

I'm looking to buy a 13" MBP for my father very soon, and I realised I can save > AED 1000 buy buying it online!

I am a big fan of Amazon.
The good thing is that you can get a large array of things to buy from.

If you want to really get greedy.
Start a reseller account on Amazon, and buy the stuff using a friend's account via your website.
I forgot what the margin is, but you can use the credit at Amazon to buy new things instead of wasting it on bank charges (which is also possible).
    Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.

Hi Gierran, How much roughly did you need to pay for the import duty? I am also looking for a trustable website and checking the total costs (but I believe it will be cheaper than buying locally in anyhow). Thanks.

I also use Amazon alot, mostly for CDs and books though (But not recently since bookworld opened in Dubai Mall)

Im also addicted to eBay. Some good deals to be found on there if you have the patience.

I'll second what others have said pretty much: Amazon for pretty much anything, BHPhotovideo for anything photography (and Macs actually), OWC for parts and some accessories, eBay for whatever you can imagine, and Apple store too (but they're tricky with credit card billing address/shipping address).

Perhaps it'll help future users if I stick this thread.

Edmond, import duty in UAE is 5%. You shouldn't have to pay anything other than that when you receive it.

I've not bought a Mac from them but I've bought camera stuff and they've delivered both straight to Dubai and to Aramex shop and ship box in US.

yeah Apple Store's tricky with CC Billing and Shipping address. I tried putting in my Aramex S/S box as both, it didn't take it.

I have had good experience with Macmall.com. I have stuff sent to my sister to resend to me or fill my luggage before returning back here. Typically, authorized dealers will not sell to you with an address here. Protecting the local agent and all. I have had good experience with Aramex resending. I have found that the local agent for Apple sells the products here with what would be the additional cost of the shipping from US web sites and an additional $100 for the having a warranty.
