New MBP Unibody Anti-Glare Option in UAE?

Hello Everyone,

I'm upgrading from my original unibody MBP to the new one released last week, but I can't decide whether to go for the glossy/glass hi-res screen or the anti-glare matte option. I'll be ordering it online and it's being brought to me by family in a few weeks from Canada (it's MUCH cheaper this way).

Only thing is... I want to compare the 2 options and see them in person. Any shops here have these in stock? I want to see if the black bezel is that much nicer than the silver bezel (that the anti-glare comes in).... in photos online i dont like to the silver. and if the glossy will annoy with the reflections or the matte will be preferred.

Sure I can look at other matte screens and compare to glossy... but that's apples to oranges for me. I want to see the two actually side by side in person.

Any idea if any stores here have the anti-glare option? And the recent one, not the old 17" from last year.

I enquired about it a few days ago at graphitech. Its a BTO model and they have ordered a few units. but at the look of things it will be here only by the end of may i guess and it costs 11,200 Dhs. i7, 15" hi res AG, 500GB @ 7200 rpm and everything else is default. Its around 1000 - 1500 dhs costlier than getting it from US!! heck its around $ 3050 in direct conversion!!

I utlimately went with the Hi-res Matte Screen and upgrade 8gb ram and 7200rpm HD.

Now to wait till the end of may for family to visit from Canada and bring me my new baby. ^_^

The latest update as of today is two weeks! but i can confirm only tomorrow.
i am still debating on either getting the MBP from us thru my cousin or getting it here locally. the cost in US that is USD 2349/- + 7.75% sales tax + shipping to my aramex in NY + 5% duty in dubai + aramex shipping charges all inclusive totals upto AED 10,500/- approx. which is like AED 700/- difference. but the satisfaction of purchasing at a brick & mortar store and checking everything before paying !!! makes me lean towards a local purchase!!!
last week when i enquired in virgin, the last gen stock MBP 15" top model costs 10,000 odd dirhams!!!

I used the education discount so I got another $200 knocked off, as well as buying it in Canada is cheaper than here to begin with. Take into Apple offering free shipping and family bringing it here for me unwrapped, it was a lot cheaper that way. Something like $500 in savings so quite a difference for me.

I have to wait, but iStyles aren't gonna be getting there here for a while either. And mine's coming directly from Apple, no middle man, so I trust the Machine will be in good working order.
