Hi all,
I am a MobileMe user for a while, in April 18, 2010 my subscription will end; so I do not know if it worth to update or not.
So anyone can help?
There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
What are you looking for in the service?
Why would update or not update?
Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.
See for instance MobileMe renewal: Yes or no?
As mentioned it depends which features you want (and whether they're worth the price).
This gentleman decided to say good bye to MobileMe, for one...
I would agree. For example, I much prefer Dropbox to iDisk. (They also have an iPhone version.) And it's hard not to prefer Gmail...
Cheers,
-Michl
Michl,
Never trust Google on anything.... never. The company that makes money selling your habits and searches to advertisement agencies. Your mail included. Your phone (in case u're Android) included too. Your blog (blogger) and your creditcard (google checkout) as well. Google knows every pooh you make, every pornsite you visit. They call it after all - targeting)))
yeah baby, yeah (copyleft)

Anyway this is a general problem with the Internet, online services, etc. No privacy.
Nothing specific to Google, really. But a very serious, vastly underestimated issue.
Also I was merely saying Gmail and Google Docs etc. were a better proposition than MobileMe.
Is the latter more secure? hmmm... I'm not using either for personal mail, that's for sure.
Cheers,
-Michl
My choices :
1. Box.net
2. Dropbox
3. Extreme cases - rapidshare.com + hotfile.com (hundreds of megs) + very extreme case : rackspace cloud files (in case u need to share gigs)
4. Sync - mobilemewhat else. But dropbox better. I love Me for good integration across all my devices.
5. Search - yahoo + bing. Recently shape of internet changed dramatically - in today world information search user - twitter+facebook. In google reality - user initiate information flow which is pull model. We moving towards push search model.
For documents - office.live.com - really miles better than already obsolete google docs (in reality its Zoho)
So what's left for Google - yet Gmail, last resort.

2 Michl,
I'm aware of absence of privacy in internet. But we talking about use of private info. I don't mind to leave some traces on news website or shopping carts - this is your "information access tax"for convenience of doing things remotely. But I'm very paranoid about Google - company that search books, news, blogs, maps, outer space, twitter, ..... what else?
/* all these things we'll one day swallow whole and fade out again and fade out again....
I'm with you on that one. Google and co are going way too far.
Plus the main problem is that everything gets archived forever.
And that most people have no clue what is really happening...
Cheers,
-Michl
