    Etisalat MF633 USB Modem

    Hi

I can't establish a connection using this modem on Snow Leopard.
Does anyone have an idea about this problem?

    Thanks

    1. Was it working before on Snow Leopard?
    2. Did you try it on different MAC or PC?
    3. Is it picking up signal like UMTS, GPRS...??

When plugged to the computer the software should indicate a green icon meaning its plugged in properly and another icon looks like sim card with green up arrow on it meaning the sim card in it is inserted properly....Are u getting those??

U could see this info on the 'Help' button on the Etisalat software

This is the 1st time to use it on Mac.
The blue indicator is working fine as well as the icons you mentioned within the application interface.

I'll try it on another PC in a while.

    Thanks for your replies.

    Tried it on Vista machine.
    This message pops up

a connection to the remote computer couldn't be established so the port used for this connection was closed. For further assistance, click more info or search help and support center for this error number

If its not working on both PC and MAC, then i would not waste further time. Never mind calling 101.

Go directly to Etisalat business center...try to get it fixed.

I believe, either the sim card is faulty or the USB device itself.

    Problem solved!
The sim card was the reason. Swapped it with another one and everything worked well.
