Download with safari

I have this problem with safari....safari wont download anything from any website. If i click download, the safari screen goes black and i could see the link to the download file in the address bar. But the download wont start. What i do then is copy the link from the address bar and paste it to the firefox....that works. For ur info, I have also installed downthemall add-on to the firefox. That works too.

Im not sure whats wrong with safari on downloads. Any help??

You might want to try to reinstall Safari.

Besides re-installing the app, did you delete the preference files, cache, etc. ?

Otherwise, you may find some useful info on Apple support misc forums... pls look around.
