Thread: Entourage Etisalat POP 3 Account

    Red face Entourage Etisalat POP 3 Account

    For the past few weeks I have been unable to send emails using my Etisalat POP 3 account.
    Keep getting error message 3259 - Server Timed out.
    Receiving messages is OK and sending via Hotmail, MAC mail etc OK
    Have tried changing default SMTP port setting from 25, but to no avail. Also changing mail address from emirates.net.ae to eim.ae.
    Rang Etisalat Help - not familiar with MAC, unable to assist.
    Same problem on the laptop installation of Entourage
    Any suggestions ????

    I find Entourage a difficult and complex beast to master. The learning curve is so steep for an email application. Any power users out there - please share their experiences with us - where to start ?

    Try having your outgoing mail server address as:

    mail.eim.ae

    or mail.emirates.net.ae

    Thanks for the reply Pawan.
    My mistake, I had already tried mail.emirates.net.ae and mail.eim.ae.
    It worked perfectly well for many months, only recently has it become a problem.

    Etisalat outgoing server problem

    I'm using Vista and Microsoft Exchange for work and I'm facing problem sending e-mails using Etisalat POP 3 mail server too. However, I'm only facing problem with the lines from 3.5G mobile broadband only, not the landline back home.

    Did you sort your outgoing mail issue? I use it on multiple users, without issues, let me know.

    been using Entourage for a while now with 3 mail accounts and had no problems....you're not on a vpn are you as mine wont work when I connect to the vpn.

    I'm afraid not. I am about to have my people set a VPN up, but it's a few weeks away.

    I use vpngates.com - its a bit of a pain as it has a habit of breaking the connection after a few minutes and it needs resetting - not good if I am in the middle of a game of poker!! I lose my (playmoney obviously) blinds and p*** everyone else at the table off as they wait for me to connect again!

    However I have still to find a better alternative.

    Email Outgoing Error

    I am using Etisalt 3.5G Router and havinh two much problem in sending email. When I searched from internet I found the outgoing server smtp.emirates.net.ae. beforeI was using mail.emirates.net.ae. but problem is still there withboth. I cahnged the port from 25 to 26,2525,26,587 as per net search. I am using office 2002. This problem is only due to 3.5G router from etisalat as I think. I have also other domain account that is sending and receiving fine but problem with only emirates email.Any body can suggest what to do.
