    Entourage

    Fangpyre. You are completely right.

I seem to have way too many email addresses. I use 4 on Entourage. And another 4 on Mail.

I think I need to gather all my personalities first, reduce the amount of email addresses, and throw that stupid Entourage out the window.

    Hi,

I just installed Office a day or two back. With entoutrage...
Below, my comments and challenges thus far.

I am unable to get access to my hotmail account. (Live messenger)
Apprarantly it only supports paid accounts, and not the free ones???

Secondly, my rules for forwarding does not work to my EIM mail address...

I can't point to my Outlook XYZ.pst file located on my external drive

Based on my experience of about 2-hours, it's safe to say that I miss my Office for Windows...
Maybe it's a bit early in the fight for me to say that.

Still, any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Thx
Bought it, crashed it... Converted to Mac...

I didn't get your points Wackhead.
Hotmail only works for the paid version, you are correct.

What are the rules you are making?
I am going to guess that you probably have them mis-configured.

As for PST files, it doesn't support it.
    Remember this isn't Outlook.
If you are trying to import from Outlook you will need to do the following:
    - Download Thunderbird on the PC.
    - Import into Thunderbird
    - Copy Thunderbird files to the Mac.
    - Import into Mail
    - then Import into Entourage.

This has been discussed in further detail elsewhere.
In short, yes, you will be disappointed with Entourage.
Luckily MS has announced they will offer a version of Outlook for Mac in 2010.

Consider giving Mail or Thunderbird a try.
    Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.

While Mail in Leopard has become a very good app (unlike the Tiger version that was so crash-prone and unreliable - at least for me anyway), its Exchange support has remained very minimal.

However Snow Leopard now offers full Exchange support not only in Mail but also iCal, Address Book, etc. so IMO there is no reason to use Entourage anymore (which has its own issues and limitations). Microsoft pretty much acknowledged that too since they are finally developing a native Outlook 2010 for the Mac.

BTW currently Apple supports only Exchange Server 2007 so if your company is stuck with ES 2003 or - god forbid - ES 2000 then it won't help...

    Cheers,
    -Michl

    Snow Leopard

Upgrade to Snow Leopard and forget about Entourage totally. Mail now supports Exchange users perfectly. Mail, Calendar and Address Book all sync flawlessly (that is if you are on Exchange 2007). Much better, much faster and totally reliable. Goodbye Entourage.
