I was wrong than.

i would vote Azureus just like emiratesmac did. the onli problem is tht azureus uses too much of memory. if ur on a 1GB ram, it would slow ur mac down to quite an extent, but tht also depends on how long u keep it running. as said earlier, it can be used for good and bad things. i wouldnt say donwloading copyright stuff is illegal, especially for sum things which they charge hella money. i download sum movies on and off, the "not so good" ones, like Hottie and the Nottie?:P but for things i would want to spend on, like music, i always spend money, especially becuz i want to support the bands and all. but for "not so great" stuff, i would rather download. for example, i cud've downloaded Iron Man, but since its such a good movie, i would rather support the cast/producers and all and thus i went2watch it in the cinema, 2ice WATCH IRON MAN PPL

I understand your reasoning, but the reasoning doesn't mean it's not illegal to download such stuff. It may mean it's not unethical though, based on your reasons.

if you mean downloading software then i think some are fine, here is my point of view why should i pay to use the software rather than own it, licensing software is something bill gates started by licensing dos to IBM and then to others if i am right he wanted to make more money, i buy most of my software but i would rather own the source code and have the right to give it to my friends (i am a programmer)

We may individually think that downloading let's say Office or Creative Suit from a Torrent site is okay or not in an ethical sense, but it's still illegal. And that's something that needs to be clear, especially from us as a registered Apple User Group, that that sort of downloading of software is illegal. Then it's a different matter how each and every individual makes up their mind about what they think is okay for them. Fact remains, there's nothing inherently illegal about BitTorrent technology, but it is used for a lot of illegal activity.

Torrents is just another download technology.
Just like HTTP, FTP, and many other ones.

It isn't the first, and it won't be the last.
For me, it gives me access to things that aren't available to us here.
An old TV show, or one that isn't on DVD.
