Trying to locate original Macbook disks.

I have a white Macbook c2007 but I don't have the disks that came with the unit. I want to re-install the system to original factory settings. Any
ideas where I can obtain the disks?

As far as I know, these discs can only be obtained from Apple. I guess proof of purchase is required and then they'll send you a replacement copy - for a fee of course...

Now I do have a white Macbook like yours, now a brick not worth repairing, so if I could find the original discs I might be able to help...
    Cheers,

Have you asked any Apple store, like iStyle?

Yes Magnus, iStyle can do a fresh instal for me, but I wanted to get hold of the disks as (a) I like doing things for myself, and (b) when the day comes for me to
part with it the sale will obviously go easier if I have the software (there are not many nit wits like me about that overlook this point!).

If you have the reciept which you recieved at the time of purchase then you can request for the disks but I am afraid you will have to pay an additional fee in lieu of the disks.

Perhaps, but that is one expensive option, just to replace an installer disc(!)

As I mentioned earlier, and then avianisha as well, Apple will replace Installer discs for free (well, for the cost of shipping, more or less).

    Just contact Apple.
    Cheers,

Thanks everyone for contributing. I have always been given to understand that you cannot do a clean installation from an upgrade disk. I happened to come across this video on Youtube yesterday which shows how in fact you can. Of course if you recover everything you have on time machine there isn't any point in the
exercise. But I followed the instructions, left the recovery until later, and then recovered just the files I wanted.

or you can try to visit an apple service center like protech, ask them if they can provide you a copy of the universal installer, more or less they'll charge around 100dhs.
