Yes and from time to time a company is interested but it's never come to anyone paying anything, probably in part because I've not had time to chase them up. And there is the dilemma, sort of a catch 22, if you like. Really, we're not talking about that much money to even be able to pay someone part time to do some maintenance and development duties. But I'll keep running the site as is without any money coming in, that's for sure. If someone wants to chat with me about options, I'm all ears

Mhh i wouldn't know much about advertisements interns of the paperwork that goes along with it. But isn't it as simple as setting up a bunch of contracts and cheques before putting up the ads?
And if you were to place ad space on this website would it only be related to IT or Apple to be precise?
Im not sure if youve done it before but what about with iStyle?

The paperwork is not the problem, the main problem is the time required to find advertisers, keeping up with them, negotiating with them, taking payments, keeping up with payments, make sure the correct ads are shown on the site, etc. It's not an insignificant amount of work even for just a few ads. As I said I think advertising here could certainly sustain at least a part time job but there's no room for that upfront investment required (in time or money). I don't mean to sound negative but try to point out the reality of the situation.

Personally I'd be open to a wide range of advertising. Someone not selling Macs but accessories and other electronics, Plugins for example, should be advertising on the site, I think. Grand Stores sell photography stuff, also a good choice, etc. We can go on and on.

iStyle would be a natural fit in terms of advertiser, so would anyone else of the major Mac sellers, like Protech, Virgin, etc. They've not approached us about it nor have we approached them.

I've added the Moderators column to the forums home page. As you can see there aren't that many moderators yet (add Crystal and myself who can admin it all).

As I said I'm open to add more moderators but they should have been involved in the site and EMUG for quite some time.

Heehee!!!jus mesn man. Your still the boss of the motor section. I gotta tell ya though..sweeeeet ride you got! Last year i bought an old Impala SS 96 over a pajero just so i can start my own project on it. I havent done much changes under the hood except for a KN cone filter on a cold air intake and minor tunings. At stock it does 260HP and now probably 275 but didnt get a chance on the dyno. My next attempt was to replace the engine with a LT2 corvette and replacing the transmission with a 6speed manual from a camaro but thats gonna be difficult and extremely time consuming.

Not to mention expensive. What I'd suggest is pulling an LS2 from a totaled car. I'm sure you can pick up a bummed LS2 with tranny and all the fixings for around 40K with shipping.

That or an LS1, but I dont think the power gains would be worth it, you'd probably just get annoyed and get a stroker kit for it.

Thats the problem in the UAE, if it isnt recent, you'll have a hard time finding parts for it. If that were not the case i'd have my 69 SS with a 595. lol.

Wow! Im so lucky to be the boss of the motor section on a computer forum! lol. Its like being the boss of "Its a small world" in Disney Land!

Yea according to many forums i noticed alot of people opted for stroker kit. But either way the transmission swap is for sure since it would greatly improve the gas mileage aswell. unfortunately, ive been having problem scavenging the scrap yard looking for an old camaro with a manual tranny especially in this heat. Moreover, i was hoping to do a swap myself even though i never did it before Just me and google! I have to do alteration and add the clutch pedal where the left foot rests.

No sir, 40K for the motor, tranny, ECU, shafts/links... basically everything. But then expect to pay a few thousand for the "surprise items that will show up. and a few thousand for the install.

In the end it WILL cost more than a usable LS2. There was a nice Vette Z06 2004 model, not a scratch for same not long ago for about 65K.

Building a car is ALWAYS more expensive than buying a car. If I ever meet you I'll show you the charger's receipts. lol.
