Server problems

You may have noticed but we're having some problems with the server. We're working on sorting it out and hopefully it'll all be back to normal soon.

Apparently if you set http/https proxy to proxy1.emirates.net.ae it works, at least for me. Didn't realize I had that set...

Not sure why, anyone know a good contact at Etisalat?

To me it seems there's a problem with Etisalat/proxying somewhere. The site is available from outside the UAE, friends confirm, and right now I can get to it as well, but once in a while I get dns error. Our server is up and running fine, and I can connect to it via it's IP. Mystery continues

I am glad it's back up..I was really bored the whole day, Emiratemac keeps me busy..I learn more and more every-time I come here..=)

I don't log on that often but neither have I encountered a problem. I always notice the slow speed when I first return from summer break but that's about it.

And you return from where? Could the slow speed have something to do with relatively slow speeds on the internet connections in general in the UAE, and perhaps less with slow speed of the actual site... ?

I think so. I don't notice this site being asny worse/slower than any others. I certainly don't pretend to know all about speed, bandwidth etc but the Internet and all of the downloads are generally slower than my US experience.
