    Problems with MacBook from Oman

    Hi everybody,
I want to say about my story. I bought my macbook in Oman from Apple Authorized Reseller (from list above). After that i moved to Dubai. Few weeks ago i went to service which is on Khaleed Bin Waleed Street because macbook every time is freezing. When they opened my macbook they found some parts which are not shipped with computer (without apple logo) and computer cannot be covered under apple limited warranty. Right now i cannot go to oman because i'm extremely busy in Dubai. But anyway could somebody tell me if they have same problem which is my best way to solve that? I mean 1. How Apple controls Authorized Resellers? 2. What can i do already in Dubai? What about Omani law? Thank in Advance.

If you can't take it back to the original seller in Oman and they say in Dubai that it's not covered by Apple warranty there's not much you can do I'm afraid. What was the name of the place you took it to in Dubai? I'd try Protech or iStore too to see what one of them have to say.

Thank you for help, I went to Arab Business Machine Service Center (Bur Dubai, Khaleed Bin Waleed Street). They gave me paper which describes that my MacBook has not original parts. They told me go to shop (Oman) if shop doesn't want to solve it then bring all papers to police. Problem is I'm not in Oman now. Maybe I should send my papers to Apple and inform them about bad authorizer reseller...

You can of course go ahead and send the info to Apple. My feeling is that they will only send the matter to ABM though, as they have in cases in the past that I know of.

    Oman Mac problem

    Dmitry

Try this Apple website: plug in your serial number and see what it has to say. Good luck.

    Thank mozartian

I used that link before and website informed me my macbook under warranty. problem is my macbook has different parts than when it was shipped. it looks like shop guy exchanged my original parts by fakes and probably sold them for somebody. In that case he cheated me and shop too. I think my best way to plan trip to oman.

The OMAN reseller is a FAKE

They have been reported to Mac International please also report your issue with the Mac officials.

I have forwarded the link to this thread to Mac to add to evidence in an ongoing complaint against LOAY in Oman
who is using Mac Reseller signage without permission. And is lying to customers about repairs etc....

DO NOT BUY FROM LOAY in OMAN.

You mean you've reported Loay to Apple Inc. or ABM, or?

Loay has been reported. I imagine they are directly linked with ABM and they too are involved. But that is not for me to decided. For now
    let the authorities investigate.

My story is almost finished. I was in Oman in Fusion Logic Shop where I bought my first MacBook before.
I spoke with Mathew who actually cheated me with fake parts of my MacBook.
When I showed documents from Apple Services which say that Macbook has fake parts.
He gave me back my money. I lost one year because Macbook didn't work properly and all my data, because shop changed original hard drive by cheaper fake drive!
I still have all documents about that story and ready to send them to Apple.

Now I'm using new Macbook Pro which I bought in iStyle in Dubai.

In internet I fount not only me has problems with that shop.
