Why doesn't he get the webfax service from Etisalat.
Everything is received via mail.
And he can send faxes thru the machine or via their website.
I hope this issue can be raised in this section.
Im trying to help a friend who is working for a small software company. They have this particular requirement.
Currently they receive fax using a fax machine. Instead they want to receive fax and save it as a file in the network or on a machine(Probably receptionist's machine). So the receptionist can attach that file and send it to the concerned person via their software.
Most of the PC's are Windows XP. Is there a way we can configure it???
Help please!!!

please direct me for more information on this
I meant PC not MAC....if this is in the wrong section....Magnus please move the thread to the right place.
Sorry Jayzijk, I can't find the link on Etisalat's site.
A search comes up with a link that leads to a grave site.
Not sure if its still available as a service.
Best you call 181.
But like Magnus said, you can simply setup a Mac or PC and have the calls go thru the computer.
Then the secretary can simply forward the faxes via mail.

Yes, further search helped me to check the Fax service in Win XP. It needs some TSID and CSID to configure the fax service. Im not sure what they are.
1 more question....I have a Etisalat landline at my home in sharjah...is it already fax enabled. Can i send fax through it...or should i enable that service with Etisalat?? If it works i could do all my troubleshooting at home itself.
Yes any land line works as a fax line.
CSID & TSID:
The CSID is displayed on the sending fax machine, this helps to confirm that the fax is being sent to the correct recipient. This string is usually a combination of the fax or telephone number and the name of the sender and is often the same as the Transmitting Subscriber Identification (TSID).
In short they are the Name & Number of the company.

Thanks Fangpyre....it worked for me.
I configured the TSID and CSID both same as my landline number (06******). I tested and it worked using the Fax service in Win XP. Luckily i had a inbuilt fax modem in my pc to test it. Now i can send and recieve fax without a fax Machine.
