AOR?
You mean you want to do 3G data connection with Wasel prepaid SIM card and you want to buy the 3G modem from someone?
I just arrived in the AOR and am interested in buying a Wasel from someone about to leave. I'm not very savvy with these things, but to explain it to my best understanding, a Comm guy here was trying to help me get it working by loading VMWare Fusion on my MacBook. However, he determined he'd have to do something along the lines of loading some sort of Windows configuration through the VMWare so it would know how to replicate it and allow the Wasel to function. I honestly have no idea if what I just wrote makes much sense, but I'd very much like to know what it takes to get a Wasel to work with a MacBook since these guys said Wasel was only designed to work with a Windows OS. Anyone out there have any insight on using a Wasel with a MacBook?

AOR = area of responsibility, in my case, Afghanistan.

Yes, but I was told that it was geared to work with Windows. What special configurations are required to get the Wasel to work on a MacBooK v. a PC?
So just so we're clear you're talking about doing this in Afghanistan, right? Sorry, about that I have no idea. Wasel in UAE is prepaid mobile phone connection with Etisalat and as far as I know all their 3G modems work with Mac. I have the E170 (I think) and it works fine.
Thanks for your input. I ran out of time with the person who wanted to sell me her Wasel (she rolls out this morning) but I'll try to test it out with someone else's as-is based on your input. We'll see. Cheers.
