I'm using Fusion and I'm very happy with it. As I've said before on the site I've had problems with Parallels in the past so I basically switched to Fusion from when their beta came out. You just buy serial online then download it.

    Windows is a necassary evil.
There are somethings that just have no OSX substitute. (for example the Salik website)
Thats the beauty of Mac, even if you walk down this road you have everything Windows has to offer.

I mean what would life be without viruses?
Is it not thru hunger that we come to know nourishment?
    Thru sickness we appreciate health.
    Thru sadness we acknowledge happiness.

    Consider VirtualBox.
Its not as strong as either one.
But it does the job for me.
Its very basic, but its free.

I also recommend VirtualBox, if u only want few apps and not playing games, then it will do the work, the best thing is its free, and its open source, means it will develop with time.

tnx guys, i downloaded the parallel and fusion, i installed/tried first parallel, gosh, it screwed up everything for me, i think somehow i missed a step in installing and i got problems connecting with the i/net....uninstalled....will try Fusion now.....

am a mac lover, though the company i work with is window-based so i can't do anything, i must use the official software/system installed on company laptops, but i want to use my macprobook (guess you know why) side by side with the other one, but i find ms office more convenient to use in windows version than mac's version (ie shortcuts, keyboards etc) so i need a better alternative than bootcamp.

aside from the original thread title, how to reformat my hard disk, i want to get rid of all the stuff and start a fresh/clean disk.....

Depends on what your definition of necessary is fangpyre. I havent needed to use a windoze box in 4 years. I use one at work, and in class, or at this or that, but me, personally, havent needed to. I dont think it's a need.

Salik has a site?! (news to me)

How do you recharge your Salik account?
You do know you are supposed to put money into it.

    Yeah, you are right.
Some people have applications that don't exist on Macs, or are even custom made.
I only use it for accessing some websites that are only for PCs (mainly Salik).
I have it on an external disk.
Thats how much I use it.

I installed Windows on the office's Mini.
I had to reboot so many times I started to hate the Apple's boot sound.
