How do you know before the purchase? Well if you're buying a new one, they're all Intel now. If it's a used one, check the model at someplace like apple-history.com.

You can run Windows on a PPC Mac with Virtual PC or SoftWindows, but they are both discontinued and it will be sloooow.

So you bought the iMac just to run Windows on it?

Whackhead is on a distinguished road
Of course not.

I got the Mac because there are more PC crashes in my study than vehicle crashes on Emirates Rd.

I opted for a secondhand Mac... Well, because it sounded like a good deal at the time.

I'll probably stick to that idea.

I'm running everything from Word to Photoshop CS3, but there are applications like Hallmark Greeting Cards and a few others that will only run on the Windows platform.

I thought I could get rid of that useless piece of $#it under the table, but I guess not.

Thanks for the help.

If you get iWorks you can make a lot of different and cool cards in Pages, and also if you go to .Mac you can find some cool cards there to send out, for free. Get rid of that ugly old computer, you do not need it.
