Arabic feedback on August Shuffle…

Those of you who have read this month's issue must have noticed that I have incorporated Arabic translation in my regular Adobe Photoshop tutorial.

If Arabic is your first or second language, what is your impression about having Arabic within our monthly newsletter? Do you think we shall have more readers, specially those who likes Apple products but lacks the desire to read English?
If Arabic is not your language of choice, can you show my Article to an Arabic reader and see what is his/her opinion.

Also, there is a poll regarding the same topic created here, please take a moment to cast your vote.

To be honest with you, I haven't spent a lot of time on EmiratesMac so I'm not sure how and to whom the newsletters are distributed (email subscription, i'm guessing).

But if the distribution is limited to members of this forum, then I doubt that we'd see substantial increase in our readership. People use this forum because they're comfortable with the English language. I've noticed people avoid posting/asking in a language they're not very comfortable with, in order to avoid embarrassment.

I may be wrong, and I earnestly hope that I'm wrong. I don't mean to discourage you, Zaid.

I do think that you should go ahead and maintain the Arabic translation. My point to prove here was that our forum needs an Arabic version. That would dramatically expand our user base.

Just my opinions!

Oh common Hyder, you obviously not spending much time nither here on our forum nor in Malls where Shuffle is picked up

We have been printing Shuffle for a number of months and not only distributing it as PDF online to everyone for download. Printed Shuffle is in the hands of Apple and non Apple users out there in Dubai and Abu Dhabi mainly.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I wish we can meet, I know you have commented on DMME forums as well.

Lol!

Yep, I'm kind outta da loop there!

Great to know you guys working hard at promoting macs!

And yeah, I own 33% of forum posts in DMME
.....1 of only 3 posts!

And knowing that extra bit of info, I gotta ask; how come we never had an Arabic version of the newsletter yet?

Different reasons, like there's been little demand for it, and getting volunteers to write in Arabic and design the Arabic version. Writing and designing every month is a huge effort for an organization like EMUG and finding people to do it also for Arabic is tough. It's been discussed in EMUG various times (did you sign up as a member?) but been put on hold. This issue Zaid took the initiative to include some Arabic and wanted to see what people thought about it.

I have posted the same message (original post) in other Arabic forums, the response there was very good and encouraging. No doubt Arab Mac users lacks a dedicated publication in their language that can shed some light on Apple products and related matter in the region.

We at EmiratesMac are considering to fill in this gap here on our web site as well as in Shuffle for the local Mac users.

Thanks to those who took time in responding to this thread, and would like to have more ideas or any other opinion here if you have more to say… شكراً
