do you think the macbook pros are going to get an upgrade anytime soon? when's the next mac expo?

I think it will only be a minor update.

The next expo might be in June.
But Apple may not wait that long for a minor update.

Macworld Expo is in Feb and although Apple is not directly participating this year I think it's safe to think that they will have some announcements in Jan-Feb (CES is in Jan and Apple won't be there either afaik). But a new line of MacBook Pro antime soon? I don't think so but perhaps a bumped one.

hahaha.. cheers thnx.. yeah, my macbook and macbook air are reaching their final stages, the air's sound is gone, and iStyle can't seem to fix it... and well, the macbook is old itself... so planing on buying the 13 inch pro.... 2.53Ghz, any thoughts about when i should get it? if there are gonig to be minor upgrades, i'll wait until jan/feb when i go to Australia and get it from there since iStyle gets everything pretty delayed...

I don't really understand why there is not a mini macbook coming out. As the tablet cannot multi-task, has no real external ports, needs external keyboard and the 13" is still a bit big for travel... why not a nice little 9" or 10"? Size does matter.

Michl, what a spreader of the good news are you. And I like the user-friendly underscore, yes. So I went right to Mac and priced my 13" at £1600 incl. VAT. I think unless one goes directly to the mac shop in UK there is no way to recover the VAT; however, I am wondering if one can phone in the order to the mac store at Oxford Circus (which is now not so scary to visit because they have made the intersection at the tube a huge X...) and then pick it up on visit... Hmmmmmmm. Wondering out loud and perhaps someone has figured it out.

Speaking of out loud, WHERE IS THE MINI POWERBOOK???? Perhaps will get to reading the ipad reviews. It frustrates me to change my working style to suit the products on/off offer at the moment. Size matters, size matters, size matters.

And speaking of the moment, does anyone know what has happened to all the regular firewire ports on these machines? I see the USB and not that I am complaining about the firewire 800 but you know, all those cables with the (is it 600?) firewire... what to do?

I went into Virgin MOE last night. they said they would be here "in a while". "Maybe a 3 weeks" was the best I could get out of them! Very frustrating. Have been waiting for months and now need to wait longer.
