Same here. I need a laptop.
I ordered last nigh one from Apple store. Everything went ok (my CC was credited) but then received an email saying that they don't ship to freight forwarders (Shop & Ship)
    So the order was canceled.

I guess that they know now that Aramex is behind that address.

I don't think these are in the cards any soon. Even rumors have stopped so...

Well, one way Apple keeps the Macbook different from the Macbook Pro is precisely by not including Firewire. See Macbook/Pro comparison page for further details.

The old Firewire is 400, new one 800 indeed. There are adapter cables, if you need - like this Moshi Firewire 800-400 adapter on the Apple Store.
    Cheers,

This is US. UK is more expensive so I didn't want to try.

    You can try Mac Mall

    http://www.macmall.com/n/Shipping-An...nationalOrders

They are not only cheaper than Apple Store but they are the biggest resellers of Apple products and they also have an international orders number.

That would be really worth a try. If they don't ship overseas then in the least everyone knows someone in Canada or the US who could forward the package. It is also worth checking out how much VAT one can claim from a mac purchase when leaving the UK (I.e., how much vat back minus fees) because the tax is not refundable in Canada or the US purchases. Also the dollar is quite strong in the UK right now. Trust me I never thought in a million years I would suggest shopping in the UK to save money, but.... Oh, the UK purchase has to be in-store to get the vat refund rec't. Online macstore purchases do not qualify.
