offical Apple store in the UAE

i heard that apple will open their middle east representative office in Abu Dhabi and the first official apple store will be open in AD in 2010, so apple will sell directly to the customer, i hope this is right ! let's wait and see i heard this information from someone who's working very closely with apple reseller in the uae.

You mean a real, 'brick and mortar' store, right?

Great but... what about a real online Apple Store?? Should be easier to set up, and then more useful to UAE customers at large (not just in Abu Dhabi).

Just an assumption, but as Dubai is now better than Disneyland and has the 1st, tallest, biggest largest... things ever, I'd assume if Apple were to open an Apple store that it would be in Dubai... Probably in Dubai Mall.

That is true, but do not forget that we have Yass island in Abu Dhabi which will include a huge collection of stores and companies.

True. But I think you mean we WILL have at some point in time. I highly doubt much of the Yas developments will be done by the end of 2010.

I must say this is one (bad) surprise to me as a new resident here. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are so advanced and high-tech in many ways, I would have expected Apple Stores and latest Mac models and iPhones everywhere Yet reality is quite different...
