    Get it from Computer Plaza.
Where in computer plaza? Is there a reliable store? I was thinking of Crucial.com

But if its available locally, and of good quality, then might as well get it here. Saves money on shipping too.

    There is no specific store.
Just make sure you buy a brand name.
I never tried Crucial, but many here have, and they say its good.

Just received the 4GB kit from Crucial for my MBP.. didn't get a chance to install them yet as I didn't have the tiny screw driver. Will it void the MPB warranty if I change the old ones?

I'll do some tests after I fix them in.. so Anyone suggest specific RAM tests for MAC (or even Windows Vista which I run in BootCamp) to make sure they are fine? I have 7 days to report a problem for a fully paid replacement.

    Appreciate your help

Ok guys, I've been here in the UAE only 1 month and I certainly realized already that prices are way too high -- that, reading the AppleIDX, visiting one iStyle shop as all as Cellucom in Sharjah city centre, etc. This is especially shocking for me, coming from Singapore where the local Apple Store prices are pretty much in line with that in the US. BUT...

What really really puzzles me is that the models on offer are not even the latest!!! Like, this thread mentions several times the Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz but that is already the previous generation! I can understand - somehow - Apple resellers charging a premium, but why not the latest models? (Why oh why?!?)
    Cheers,

It usually takes them a few weeks to get the models updated.
I think the last batch took 2 weeks to arrive.
But you will find that many resellers don't have the distributor's latest models.
    Not sure why.

    eh, thanks for the update!

That still makes the low end MBP at the price of the high end (US store)! but... what to do.
