Don't buy now Apple Store US says

A friend I knew went into the Apple Store in the US and wanted to buy the Macbook Pro, the guy there suggested that he wait till September as a new model is expected then. Then I saw this on macrumors.

Putting 2 & 2 makes me think

whether Apple is really going to redesign in the month of September?

I don't have a great deal of experience with Apple Stores, but based on what I have experienced, I doubt very much they would tell anyone that. There is no financial incentive for the staff to do that it seems and it most likely goes against Apple's policies.

Well, I have the least experience, as I have never been to an Apple store but the friend called me and asking me what to do whether to buy now or wait, he was in the store itself. I was taken aback when he said that as I was to quick to point out that if the guy in Apple store said it, then it should have been all over the various mac sites in the preceding days if not weeks.

So, he went ahead and bought it anyways, I didn't think much of it till I saw the rumor on macrumors.com and I was reminded and I just posted it here.

That's true Magnus, unless he knows the guy.

There are rumors that MBP will be redesigned.
Some even thought it would be launched at WWDC.
Considering that the current design has been around for years, its been long in the process.

I agree that the MBP design has been overdue for something new for a long time, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's coming around after the summer.

Apple Corporate doesn't tell Apple Retail anything. Apple Retail employees usually get the word of product announcements the day of, or even later.

I say this only because the employees at the Shadyside (Pittsburgh, PA) Apple Store usually are watching the keynote liveblogs along with everyone else

Also, maybe the guys is feeding off the same rumors everybody else is.
