| Its a column! Im supposed to give my opinion! Yes, because you are a highly regarded technology guru, or are Jobs himself? Pretty high and mighty arent we? Where did you get your PhD in BS? It's kind of drawing me over to the dark side. If you have used ANYTHING other than a Windoze box and still prefer Windoze then you my not so smart friend are just plain STUPID. stupid |ˈst(y)oōpid| adjective ( -pider, -pidest) lacking intelligence or common sense : I was stupid enough to think I have the right to breathe. (See, a perfect example for you) Choice A is a PC that will never ever do what it should, choice B is a computer that does everything it should... and you choose A. Tar and feathers? I say we drive around Dubai (when/if he comes back) in a huge black Nissan Armada and just run him over. Seriously. For Aslan! |

| Thanks, Hollic. Medo, you are right. So right in fact that Vista wouldn't be here today, if it weren't for Ballmer. BTW, watch Microsoft being slammed. |

| Guys, let's keep this discussion to the issues and let's not get too personal. Let me add that we want people like Scott to feel comfortable with coming here to discuss issues like this, and some of the comments made here I don't think help accomplish that. | Wow!! one of the most interesting and 'livewire' discussion/debate going on here. I also went through the article and found that it was extremely anti-mac without putting the argument in perspective in comparison to PC. Some of the arguments put forward by Fangpyre is outstanding.. |

| i cannot believe tht i've missed out on this discussion!!! bloody mids in the summer session first of all, welcome scott Blue, i LOVE u and ur comments ow and scott, if we need to have a healthy debate, you need to come here more often if you take market share into consideration as the cause of all of the viruses being exploited it still dsnt make sense. 87% market share and more than 3,000 viruses (if not more) and 8.7% market share and 32 viruses? according to the ratio chapter in the grade 5 book, windows should have 320 viruses, they just HAPPEN to put one more 0 at the end right? next is WHY windows has that much market share. One reason is that because they're just ignorant about how mch better the Mac is and dont want to switch. pretty mch like when the EV1 was introduced as a replacement for petrol driven cars. other than that, Apple doesn't have clones (not that i know of anymore). hence the low market share. otherwise you explain to me y a person wouldnt buy a system that's crashed on me one in 2 years(ONLY if u dont know that's low), HAS NOT BEEN INFECTED WITH A VIRUS YET, has not given me the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH. and now for the best windows moment ever.YouTube - Bill Gates Blue Screen of Death |

| Scott, first of all welcome to the site and thanks for finally joining it after being on the sidelines. I wish you a pleasant stay here. I hope you understand you touched a nerve by being unfair, an opinion article does not mean that you do not look for facts or you give your version of truth, I mean come on Gulf News is not owned by Rupert Murdoch, that you are fair and balanced only when it suits you. I mean the article's title says how to choose a system and you went on to crucify the mac community by saying that our identity is closely attached to a mac. So, that was an unabashed attack on the community and community has responded back. I fully respect the fact that you tried out the mac and went back to PC - fair enough, atleast you tried out the system unlike others who pass on the stuff on hearsay. Can you tell me why do you prefer the PC over the Mac - that is far more constructive as then we can get to understand where you are coming from. Else, it's going to be a case of whatever has happened so far. I can safely say for my colleagues that we are usually not so threatening in fact we are wonderful people and we would love to have you at our user group meetings, june 21st is the latest one. Or let's do a podcast debate, what do you say? |
