But comparing Mac users to Harley owners? Come on.
    Hii Scott,
like magnus said, it is nice to have you hear. (pun intended)
    I can understand your attitude.
I was once as anti-Mac as they come.

But I am sure you have never REALLY used a Mac.
    Nor were you completly objective.
You list the entire list of current viruses on a Mac, why don't you do the same for the PC .
Plus all of those viruses have the least categorized threat and distribution by Symantec.
Symantec also claims a massive growth of virus activity on the Mac, we now have 3!!
    How much is 3/150,000?

You are right about one thing, its downright stupid to get a Mac only to run Windows.
But the beauty in that is that you don't need to choose.

The Mac's "it just works" is how you go around to getting a life.
Yes, the Mac is very much a Harley.
It compares to it in every aspect, customer loyalty, employee loyalty, cultural impact (can u say iPod?), customer satisfaction, and user experience.
When your company commands a cult following, you're doing something right.

I'm going on my Harley now, and you can hapily use the subway.
    After all its cheaper.

PS I agree your right to disagree, even without the REAL threat of a lynch mob.

    Come on, Magnus.
    Be realistic.
Oil is past $130 a barrel!

Besides, why put the effort when Redmond will do it for us.

Actually, I once owned a mac. I still use a mac daily and have almost every working day for the past 10 years. I still prefer PCs.

You have to remember something. I write a column, which means I'm supposed to give my opinion, so of course I wasn't being objective. Unfortunately, the website doesn't make that clear.

Hey, no one is saying PCs don't have a massive problem with malware. Mac wins in this category hands down. I listed those 3 because I was getting bombarded by people saying there are NO mac viruses. One person demanded that I name one. I did.

Actually, I never compared Macs to Harley. I compared MUGs to HOGs. Hell, my article (despite popular belief) wasn't to condemn Apple or the Mac. I was poking fun at some of the comments I have received from Mac users.
As for customer satisfaction and user experience? It's not as universal as you say it is. I've talked to at least four current/former Mac users like myself this week who have agreed with my comments. Sorry, but once you go Mac, sometimes you do come back - to PCs.
    Cheers,
    Scott

Your welcome. It is nice to have this discussion.
    We akways enjoy it here.
But this is the first time it took place as a one sided ridicule in a public newspaper.
    Thus the comments.

    What can I say?
I need to point out that for many there is 2 eras for Apple. Post and Pre OSX.
Unlike the older versions, OSX is a solid OS, with a strong architecture.

I didn't know that. I don't read your column, nor would I have had it not been posted here. Nor did I read the first article. No offense. But, I don't usually read opinion articles. I can do that for myself.

But like I said in my previous post, I agree with your right to disagree.

To say there is no problems with the Mac is unrealistic. The EMUG is here to help people with their problems. But as far as we are concerned, viruses, trojans, and malware don't exist. As Symantec said, they have infected 0-50 computers, so at max there are 150 Macs with viruses. Most users haven't seen one. And for all I know, Symantec is trying to push its sale-less antivirus program to Mac users by doing the standard scare tactic.
Those infected Macs might only exist on Symantec and the author's computers.

Like I said, I didn't read you column. But I was referring to your post here.
And to be honest, I think it is a good analogy.
    People complain about MOGs too.
Harleys have there issues, but to someone who has never tried the feeling of an open road, those beasts are a stupid investment. Others have tried them but haven't enjoyed them. My granny says hello.
For the later, you will never know.

As for the comments, go back to the beginning of this post.
In the end, the guys are just having fun, albeit at your expense.
But I guess you were expecting that. And I know you aren't really threatened by the remarks.

In fact Blue might have to go out to protect you.
If something DOES happen to you, the police will be walking in the front door shouting "Lucy, you have some essplainin too doo"

BTW, have you noticed how most serial killers are Windows users?
    Statistically speaking.

True. If the that were not the case Apple would have 100% market share.
However, it is registering growth in unrealistic levels.
Vista was the best thing to happen to the Mac.

I have seen a few myself, but I those I have seen fall into 3 categories:
    - Those who have a fathomed feeling to conform and comply. Professor Milgram will be proud.
    - Those who are loathe change, and are set into the PC way.
    - And those who are just too lazy to work the learning curve.

I guess there is nothing wrong with that.
After all, if there weren't for sheep, we wouldn't have lamb chops.

I don't know you on a personal level, and I reckon you are a nice guy.
But for some reason, the rhyme "Ba Ba Black Sheep" keeps running thru my mind.

The problem with Mac is people doesn't know there is other options, but once they know, they never return (or maybe sometimes as u claim!!!!)
