Apple has made version 10.5.3 available to users via software update.

not much to say other than, great work apple but i cant dl it yet, it doesnt show up

Same for me. For many users here it takes sometimes days before it shows up in Software update. But for updates like this one, I prefer to download the full update anyway and not do it through the automated update.

I am assuming you are donwloading a full version of leopard that is 10.5.3?

What are the pros and cons to what you are doing to an auto update?

I've been running the developer versions since they first started to come out and I've had no problems.

Upgraded yesterday
Its wopping 530.8 MB
Didn't notice anything new. either it resolves or fixes lot of stuff.
