MBA Confuses Security @ airport!

Thought i'd share this funny article from MacNN | Apple, Macintosh and iPod news

HaHa! Quite funny and frustrating at the same time

Quote:
MacBook Air confuses airport security

The MacBook Air's thin design is causing some confusion for the technically ignorant, according to one blogger who says that the ultra-portable caused him to miss his flight. When going through the TSA airport security checkpoint, blogger Michael Nygard was held up as security staff gathered around his MacBook Air, trying to make sense of the slender laptop. One of the less technically knowledgeable staff points out the lack of standard features as cause for alarm.
"I'm standing, watching my laptop on the table, listening to security clucking just behind me," Nygard recalls of the situation. "'There's no drive," one says. 'And no ports on the back. It has a couple of lines where the drive should be,' she continues."

Nygard was made to wait until a younger agent came over to the gathering to inform his comrades of their error, that it is indeed a laptop and not a "device". After making three attempts to describe the concept of a flash-based hard drive, security lets Nygard through the checkpoint, only to go back to the service center to rebook, as his flight had since left.

I think a bit of background info is in order. for those who dont know the TSA are a group of utter morons who after the happenings in NY on Sep 11th 2001 are in-charge of security checkpoints at all major US airports. I think the general requirement to be a TSA agent is something along the lines of born before 1924, an IQ equivalent to your shoe size, and a general lack of personal hygiene or simple mastery of ANY language.

For those who know who the TSA are... you were not one bit surprised by this story, huh?

Totally not surprised.. i would've smacked him in the head with his so-called "battery-less" walkie talkie, and yell at him "Wake up and smell the MAC!"

The way you wanna setup your airport's security, is you want the short,
heavy set women at the front with the skin tight uniform.
That's your first line of defense.

You want those pants so tight the flap in front of the zipper
has pulled itself open, you can see the metal tangs hanging on for dear life.

Then you put the bag on the conveyor belt. It goes through the little luggage car wash.

Then you have the other genius, down at the other end, looking at the little X-ray TV screen.
This Eistein was chosen to stand in front of X-rays 14 hours a day.
It's his profession.
