Macbook Air update

Typing this on my Blackberry on our way back from the Apple store. They did not get any Macbook Air today but they're hoping tomorrow. If they do we'll try to delay our return trip and go pick up a MBA.

For those of you who have not yet experienced an Apple store, try to visit one as soon as you can, it' truly an experience

We'll try to keep you updated.

For a crazy apple mac experience you need to hit the apple mac shop on 5th avenue, New York. it is one of only 2 apple macs stores that I have ever visited (The second being the one in Raleigh NC, which Magnus is visiting right now) It was awesome. The entire building is made of glass, and you have to take a spiral staircase down into the store.

There are probably over 100 apples that are out on display. It has a huge Genius Bar, the store is manic - The store is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Sumudu, I just use the regular site URL (www.emiratesmac.com). Not everything works it seems, and not all graphics show, and formatting is certainly messed up, but it works well enough on the go.

There's the mobile version (http://www.emiratesmac.com/mobile/) which I made for iPhone users. Not sure how it works or not on Berry.

The regular emiratesmac.com site shows well on the iPhone, I wouldn't use the /mobile although it is a fast browsing alternative.

Magnus, you are picking up an MBA from Apple store?! Do they give discounts for EmiratesMac card holders?

I agree. I have been to the Apple store in Chandler, AZ and it is a sight to behold. everything out in the open, people who know what they're talking about, and way way way helpful. not pushy, and not neglecting either. You know! My birthday's coming up! *hint hint*

We want to try one first, but we may pick one up once we do.

Note that if you just want to quickly check the site on the go (EDGE) it saves you a lot of kb if you check the mobile version.

We've called most stores on the East Cost... not really but feels like it... Latest is that most stores have today (Friday) received one MacBook Air for display only, no units for sale. Also most stores tell us they are due for a regular shipment of items Monday or Tuesday next week so perhaps then they'll get some. We're looking into delaying our return and may stay to see if we can catch the first MBAs in stores.
