Faster Mac Portables

Apple has given speed bumps to both the MacBook and the MacBook Pro

MBP now comes in 2.2,2.4 and 2.6 GHZ versions. The store page shows only 2.2 and 2.4 for the 15 and 2.4 for the 17 but the tech specs list all three and when you select the 2.4 ghz 15 version or the 17 inch version you get an option to upgrade to 2.6 for additional $250.

* 15.4/2.2Ghz/2 GB RAM/120GB/SuperDrive DL/NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 128MB SDRAM-US$1999
* 15.4/2.4Ghz/2 GB RAM/160GB/SuperDrive DL/NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB SDRAM-US$2499
* 15.4/2.6Ghz/2 GB RAM/160GB/SuperDrive DL/NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB SDRAM-US$2799
* 17/2.4Ghz/2 GB RAM/160GB/SuperDrive DL/NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB SDRAM-US$2799
* 17/2.6Ghz/2 GB RAM/160GB/SuperDrive DL/NVIDIA GeForce 8600M 256MB SDRAM-US$3049

What is amazing is that the 2.6 ghz 15 inch and 2.4 ghz 17" go at the same price except the screen size and the the additional 0.2 ghz everything is the same

Venky, guess you didn't see this. Could you please check the site a bit better before posting in the future so we don't get so many double postings.

ok i will edit the portion of macbooks as you have already covered it, but mbp i found out by chance as I was looking to find out if leopard is pre installed or not. And thats when I saw the change in specs so I posted about mbp and then I checked about macbooks and I posted both.

So, this post was not entirely a duplicate of yours , so I will remove the duplicated info

P.S: Macbook speed bump points to your post
