Any frequent travellers here?

Hi everyone,

I was a member ages ago, but somehow stopped going on forums.. so hello to all the old timers here.

I was wondering, is there anyone here who travels a fair bit between the US and Dubai? I wanted an iPod classic and my colleague wanted an iPod mini (the new one) and if we get it from the US it'll save us a lot of money. What do u guys think?

Can't you buy them from Amazon? And how much is the savings on an iPod?

There is no iPod "mini"

the only difference between buying your stuff from an Apple store and Amazon.com ..

is the buying experiance itself .. and .. in price .. the shipping from US to where-ever-you-are charge ..

that's it ..

have fun .. buying from Aramex.com ..

BTW: you can buy from Apple through Aramex ..

just choose Apple as a seller .. and have fun with the Apple prices in Amazon ..

i hope this helps ..

Amazon will not ship any iPod to the UAE

Any other option?

This is all new to me - what is Shop and Ship box please (and can you clarify the references to Amazon and Aramex). Sounds like we're missing out on something here.

Aramex Shop & Ship. Search the forum and you'll find it's been discussed a lot. Basically you pay for PO Box in US and UK and you can have stuff sent to that box, and then Aramex will ship it from there to you (for a fee of course). We (and many others) have bought stuff from Amazon that way. I've not tried it with an iPod though.

You can buy from Apple and ship to your Aramex account, but be warned !

As they have done to me last month in buying the new iLife08, they check your details.

When i tried to buy using CitiBank C/C ... i received a polite e-mail stating that they only sell to US based customers !

But ... when i used my HSBC card ... bingo, sale was processed and goods despatched.
