Appleoholic's version of someone going to Apple store to replace their note book because they kept smacking their note book is funny. But then Apple designs their products to take even harder stuff so I guess it is quite possible that they might include this feature in Leopard. BTW..Any rumors on the possible launch date of Leopard?

senthil03, spring of this year!! so anytime soon!!! maybe tomorrow maybe a month!! i read it would be a 3D interface. There were other rumors that said leopard was going to be late because of vista, but the new boot camp released 2 days ago supports vista.

Laopard release is the main reason why I have held back my purchase of a new Mac Book. Every time I see the Mac Book with Emirates Mac, the temptation to go and pick up one for myself is too much to control..Now the 3D interface would be interesting and as the saying goes 'The wait for worth its while'

Well senthil you can go on waiting forever then while we get time using our Macs If you buy a Mac today it will run Leopard just as well as a Mac you buy when Leopard is released. And updating will be (if it's the same as Tiger) around 400 Dirhams. In the mean time, you get to use a Mac for a few months (or whatever time there is until Leopard comes out).

virtuedesktop gone.. but here is its replacement

Hi Guys,

the virtuedesktop has been discontinued as magnus posted, thanks magnus! However Codetek do a corperate version called virtualdesktop which will allow you to go ahehad and implement the smacktop. It also gives you workspaces, akin to the workspaces options you have had on Linux/BSD GUIs for years (or spaces on the new OSX10.5).
I have also noticed that amazon has now started listing OSX 10.5 as a pre-order option, which could be a sign that it is coming very soon.

Hi Dan this is a great app, (CodeTek Virtualdesktop Pro) but unforunately a bit flaky on my MacIntel. I am now trying the Virtuedesktop & shadowbook. I let you all know how I get on.

Rgds

flaky App

HI Gday, I run in on my macbook Pro and It works ok, no flakiness thus far. Why don't you send me the output of the dmesg command from the terminal, or take a look at your /var/log/system.log file and see if you can spot any funk errors.

thanks

Dan
