Probably not necessary. You can just change the plug on the power adaptor, and many apple shops will sell you a square pin adaptor if you don't want to use a third party power power lead.

You can buy a new power adapter at iStyle, Virgin, or anywhere that sells Apple/Macs (I have gotten them from both places). The plug is probably going to be the European plug, but probably not the UK plug.
You can just use your US plug here, with no worries, just get an adapter like they said, from any store. If you do get a new adapter, just make sure you get the correct watt for your Mac.
