    Pretty much, yeah.
Its an easy way to make a basic web site.
You can sync it with your ME account to upload the site to the site you get with the account.
    Stay hungry. Stay Foolish.

No, iWeb is VERY basic but indeed good looking web design tool. It will be enough to create some family website or some photo album but dont expect something groundbreaking from this program.

FrontPage is far more professional program but if you want to test your talent in web design you can download Adobe Dreamweaver. This is the most advanced program for Web developers. I bet you heard about it. So there is version for mac as well.

Personally I don't recommend to use MobileMe. For simple reason - why pay 99$ annually for basically same stuff that you can get for free from Microsoft or Google. Yes I know Apple services look better, fancy, more polished.... but do you need email or stylish look?

Regarding uploading iWeb "websites" to the internet you can find some free utilities to convert iWeb stuff to normal website so you can upload it anywhere. Fore free even

You forgot integrated. There are many reasons why someone shouldn't pay for and use MobileMe but for new users, or users who don't want to have to think about online services much, MobileMe is more integrated than anything else. Yes you can build up the same services with various free services but MobileMe serves it all up in one integrated package and that's the main selling point.

Let's not confuse others, please. In iWeb '08 you can just save the iWeb site to a folder then FTP that folder to your web hosting account. In iWeb '09 there is built-in FTP support so you can publish with one click to your web hosting account. No need for "free utilities to convert" anything.

As Magnus said, it is an integrated solution. I have been using iWeb/.Mac/mobileme package for the last 6 years and am very happy with the results so far.

For an amateur, it is a great option to create fabulous looking site and uploading it easily.

Thank you all for your responds, I had used front-page before, but if you are not an expert in programing, it will be hard to used it. But in iweb it is easy.

It is nice to know each other opinion.

Indeed it seems that iWeb '09 has reached the tipping point where it is now sufficiently mature to satisfy users with simple needs, who just want their website quickly 'up and running' (and who certainly do not want to program!) Still it will frustrate anyone with more advanced needs...
