Syncing Gmail contacts on my new iMac

So I got my first Mac last week, a 21.5 iMac, managed to do everything I expected so far except one thing: my contact groups in Gmail.

My contacts sync beautifully with Gmail, but I can't see my contact "groups" on my Address Book, and I can't do any changes to them in Address Book.
I searched long for a solution online but didn't find a way, any ideas?

You can't.

Apple and Google and Microsoft all implement Calendar, Address Book, To Do's, etc. differently - so there is no perfect one-to-one feature-for-feature match between any two of them. Basic features sync, advanced ones don't.

Well, I expected that since I had the same issue with my iPhone years earlier but I thought to give it a try
