Affried of choosing the wrong model

    Hi all...

i am starting the big transition from Windows to MAC.. my windowing days is over .
but i am still not sure what to get.

apparently mac pro will be perfect but i need some experts advise.

My work is basically Photo Editing and Watching HD Videos (720P) -Audio and Video is my biggest concern-

i am not looking for portable mac. desktop is better for me.

WELL Mac mini serve me right if i connect it to a 32" external display and connect audio via bluetooth to watch HD VIDEOS???
and would the graphic card give me good results handling high resolution photo editing?

OR i buy a macbook bro and use it with bookarch to connect it with the external display and etc.

    your recommendation is highly appreciated.

Watching HD video with Mac mini is no problem. Hi-res photo editing should also not be an issue (doesn't depend too much on graphics card unless you step up to CS5 and get a CUDA-compatible card, I guess). Just put in as much RAM as the mini can take and you should be fine.

    What about iMac 27 inch?

Thank you Magnus for your reply...

actually i have a 32" LED Screen (Samsung) and i am comfortable with it. watching a 720P video gives a great quality and video depth.

regarding the Mac mini, 4 GB is the highest amount right???
    would it be enough?

Ok... what about mac mini handling multitasking.. well it do fine if i am running a video minimized. while PS is running and editing pictures. on top of that a torrent is downloading.

Why would u run a video minimized?
The Mac Mini can run that, but its not the best machine for PhotoShop.
Its a low end machine, and won't be able to handle much PS if the picture is big.

As explained in the welcome email and PM, all new users have their first number of messages automatically scanned for certain keywords and phrases. If there's a hit, it's held in moderation until a moderator or admin can get to it. It's an automated process, applied equally to everyone.

    Ok. Makes sense.
I keep them to the side rather than minimized

I can't say how big, but for a pro the Mini is not an option.
For mild tinkering you'll get away with it.
