For me its about mood, and the work I have at hand (and the level of concentration it needs)
I listen to many formats: Rock, Alternative, Rap, Slow, and Classical.
Yes, they are all very different.
But I mainly listen to Rock and its different variations.

Bands and singers I like:
Staind
Guns n Roses
Bon Jovi
Sarah McLachlan
Nine Inch Nails
Coldplay
Faith No More
Natalie Merchant
Yellowcard

I'm a sucker for melancholy songs and movies.

Thanks, I kinda cringes at your comment at No death metal since Swedish death metal is my favorite form of music, and so very fun to play as well.

In the early 1990s, a distinctively new death metal scene arose, centered primarily around Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden, though also incorporating Finnish and Norwegian bands. The Swedish and Finnish bands, inspired mainly by 1980s thrash metal and speed metal bands, were more popular than the Norwegian bands, who were influenced strongly by black metal and included keyboards and chaotic riffs. The first wave of "Swedish death metal" consisted primarily of the bands Carnage and Nihilist, who fragmented later into Entombed, Dismember and Unleashed. These bands used the trademark Tomas Skogsberg/Sunlight Studios "buzzsaw" guitar tone, which was created by a combination of heavily detuned electric guitars and a 40 watt Peavey amp exclusively miked from behind the speaker cabinet, thus prioritizing the low frequencies in the recording process. Using tremolo picking and faster riffs than most death metal, they represented the greatest success of the genre outside America. Later, the Gothenburg sound was pioneered by bands such as At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, and In Flames.
From wikipedia. search Swedish death metal. Best music ever. Sadly, I always joke that the best band of that genre is from Washington DC! lol. Darkest Hour.

Noixe, there is an Anime store in Abu Dhabi called Kunooz Al Sharq (Treasures of the East) they have anything you want. Im more into mecha anime myself. Gundam, Macross, Cowboy Bebop... and stuff like Deathnote and Witch Hunter Robin.
