no 3G icon ON MY BB BOLD

I just bought new BB bold unlocked one from T mobile. I use under Etisalat. I subscribe few days ago to an data plan and everything is ok. Good download of e-mails and good speed of browser. But, the problem is that all the time is show only EDGE icon not 3G. If i restart the device will show me 3G but suddenly signal drop down and come back but under EDGE.
Can you help me with this matter. ? It is a problem of device ? or ?

Umm, well whenever any of my friends or myself went through that. I'd ask them to make sure that you applied for the service.. And make sure you enabled your phone to use 3G and 2G.

(To know you're subscribed to the data plan, you'd see the blackberry symbol beside the 3G whenever you see it)

If you're not familiar with doing that
Go to Home > Manage Connections> Mobile Network Options> Network Mode 3g and 2G.

Or sometimes it depends on the location you're at, like at my friends in Sharjah the 3G signal is weak so it goes to Edge.

Thank you very much for your support and help.I have almost 4 months experience in BIS with Unlimited data plan from Etisalat. The phone it is set already to 3G and 2G conn. I don't make complain regarding speed of dwd or reading mails or what ever I make on internet. I know that should be an icon of 3G in corner right part followed by BB sign but is only edge if I restart or close connection the phone will show 3G but after 2 min signal drop down and come again under edge. I remind the BB Bold is unlock under TMobile Germany and is up date with kast version of OS, at the end all setings in the phone are done.

I just call my carrier Etisalat and a nice lady just answer me very polite, despite my complain. What she told me ? That "sir, the 2G is work much better than 3G on BIS in special on BB Bold"
This is the answer what i got. So if a person come and say this, i will go and play with my gun where i have one bullet. (for me )

Hey hey! I just experienced this with my boyfriends Bold! He would have Edge, and even though he is subscribed to the BIS..! However, when I put my sim on his Bold, there was 3G. So nothing wrong with the phone! So instead! It's the sim card! I looked it up on the net and it said it might be a damaged sim card! (He tends to lose signal at random times too) Maybe that's it?

the point is, that i have to find a sim card witch have activated the BIS on Etisalat and see if it is working and if it is my sim damaged.
