I'm still very happy with the Acer One. I don't use it much but sometimes it's nice to just grab it and go.

I like the HP.
It seems more solid.
But both the Acer and the HP have strong specs.
HP is available here for about 1500 for the Linux version.
That's cheaper than most mobiles!!

Where have you seen the HP here man? As far as their site goes, it isnt available with any OS but XP. You sure it's this same model? The MINI 1000?
Its the one with the Via processor.
Not sure which that one is.
I saw it in Jumbo (I think the one in Deira City Center).
It wasn't bad.

I want a small reasonable priced lappy xD!

So Ive decided on the HP Mini 1000 (sold here at the Compaq Mini 700)
BUT, I need these mods:
2 GB RAM module (to replace the 1 GB one)
a 64 GB SSD w/zif connect (to replace the 60 GB HDD)
A fresh copy of Ubuntu 8.04 (or remix) to replace XP.
ubuntu I download, the RAM I can get anywhere... My question is where can I get a DECENTLY priced 64gb SSD? If not, Ill settle for a 32 GB one. Locally is preferred, and price would be nice.
